Social Media Workflow: Returning to Our Natural Rhythm
Are you looking for ways to get into a better rhythm with your content scheduling and engagement? The lunar cycle is an age-old rhythm that can help inspire your workflow and nail your goals! In our constantly connected world of social media and digital networks, it can be easy to forget about something so simple yet powerful as the ancient rhythm of waxing and waning moon phases. When plotting out plans like content calendars for next month that could use an extra boost - all I do is look up at the celestial beauty to help me stay on track. Here’s how I manage my social media workflow inspired by our lovely lady moon!
Shadow Moon
I begin with the new or dark moon phase- where everything is still new and fresh. To me, the dark moon signifies fresh beginnings, calling upon my creative spirit and inspiring new ideas for posts that would capture my audience's attention. But first, I need to define my audience. Who are they? What do they relate to? I get familiar with them, putting myself in their shoes. I set my intentions and embark on my journey into the metaverse.
Waxing Moon
As I shift into the Waxing moon phases, this is where all the magic happens. The waxing moon is all about movement as if pushing forward into unknown territory with each step. I allow myself to take risks and be adventurous with my social media - using it as an opportunity to stand out from other similar accounts. I begin planning my pieces, writing my content, searching for trends, and seeing what days of significance are coming up so I can be up-to-date. I make sure to refine any ideas or messages which could potentially be confusing or misleading before finally publishing them online. This way when I move on to creating my visuals, my focus can be on their design and ensuring my branding stays cohesive across all platforms.
Full Moon
Maximum visibility and maximum energy from the full moon at its peak power! The full moon is known as a time of energy, creativity, and abundance. It is believed that our intentions are amplified during this time and more easily manifested into a reality. Perfect time to push those posts to my social!
Waning Moon
Now that my posts are out in the world, it’s time to shift my focus to visibility. During this period, I concentrate on reposts & engagement activities such as sharing retweets & comment threads so that conversations continue long after my initial posts were made public. During this time, I also watch my analytics, seeing which posts perform well or could use some TLC. I keep my eyes peeled for new trends and prepare myself for the next cycle. Finally, when it comes time for another lunar cycle to begin again, I feel ready: excited by what possibilities lay ahead but also grateful for having taken advantage of every moment along the way!
All of us are dreamers, constantly searching for a rhythm we can move to; for a symphony that we can distinguish through the noise. Perhaps there is something special about the night sky, magnetically drawing us in with its serene melody and gentle rhythms, allowing us to escape into another world-at least for a moment.
